REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Volunteer in My CommunityWhat is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?
KJ Dullanty 10/28/2020 4:21 PMTo help the community become more sustainable is to share with others where they can donate, recycle, etc. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
KJ Dullanty 10/26/2020 8:38 AMFor me it's accessibility- we have cups, reusable bottles, etc. But are they clean and available for me to use...
So, with this challenge we have made it a point to keep the bottles clean and ready to use. I even store mine full in the fridge so when I get thirsty I can grab my bottle or when I head to school I can take my ready to drink water bottle with me! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Join a Local CSADependable fresh food, better prices (cutting out carbon-heavy supply chain and grocery stores), supporting local farmers and building resilient communities are just a few benefits of local food systems. Which of these benefits (or others not listed here) inspires you the most?
KJ Dullanty 10/19/2020 6:28 PMI love being able to support local- our community is small and mighty and if we support the local farmers and families we support our community. Plus what's better than fresh food?! Win, win... I am proud to live in a community where local farmers supply our shops, corner stores and produce stands. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
KJ Dullanty 10/13/2020 7:57 AMCreativity challenges you to use your mind and imagination. Unplugging from the outside world and focusing on what’s right in front of you. What matters. -
KJ Dullanty 10/11/2020 10:28 AMThis weekend was Homecoming weekend and to be more sustainable and put our FFA skills to good use we handmade our corsages and boutonnières! How cool is that?! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Car ShareTake a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, school, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?
KJ Dullanty 10/08/2020 4:23 PMNot only does driving with my buddies save gas and the environment but it gives me more time to connect with them and it’s fun!
