    While today is the final day of the Ecochallenge, it's just 1 more day in the overall Ecojourney.  I encourage everyone to keep the momentum going forward as we can all make a difference.

    Guess what ... I think the coffee tastes the same in a reusable mug!  Maybe even better!

    Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
    While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Using a reusable water bottle is an easy change once it becomes part of your routine!  It has been a little tougher with COVID as there are less places to fill up my bottle, but I can always start the day with a full bottle (or 2) from home.

    What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    I leave a cooler in my car so that I can just put the groceries right into the cooler.  That helps keep them the correct temperature, and also makes it much easier to unload the car when I get home.

    Eating more fruits and vegetables feels great because it is healthier, consumes less resources, and is great on the wallet!

    With a 5 year old it's very easy to incorporate exercise with family time!  Just about any opportunity is the perfect reason to go outside and run, play catch, etc.

    What was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?

    The process for staying on the ground was super easy with COVID!  In the future we will consider vacations closer to home.  Another option is to plan longer trips instead of more frequent shorter trips.

    This challenge has helped to refocus my energy on things that I already knew I should be doing, as well as helping me to gain knowledge about additional steps I can take.

    Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit?     It feels great to know I'm helping reduce waste by taking the simple step of using a reusable coffee mug.  A cup a day really adds up.

    With rain in the forecast, I think about the way some Scandinavians look at weather.  Similar to work, just need to be prepared.
