I deal with stress through regular exercise. Walks outside or riding my bike greatly help with stress level.

    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

Refuse! I've been working on this behavior, especially for 'give aways' or 'swag'. Do I REALLY need another coffee cup? Or plastic widget? I try to look for stickers instead to decorate my lab notebook :)

I'm looking forward to today's Reinventing Inclusion webcast.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

I will hand carry items or use a paper bag. I created a habit of bringing a crate and insulated costco bag with me when I grocery shop. No plastic bags, easier/faster to 'bag' my groceries, and less trips to/from the car when unloading at home. WIN!!

I get to stop and say hello to my neighbors... and pet all the dogs that are out walking too! (after asking of course)

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Reduce Refined Sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

    Katy Ferguson's avatar
    Katy Ferguson 10/10/2020 1:53 PM
I try to limit sugar, especially in the mornings, because the rise in blood sugar will send me on a 'roller coaster' of cravings.
