    Last day! Wow...okay...veggies went well...food sovereignty and water rights explorations went okay...but transportation was hard, because I had to talk to someone everyday, which wasn't realistic for me this year. I love that the ecochallenge pushes me and the 3 weeks is a great length to make things more of a habit! Thanks ecochallenge!

      Yeah something that involved talking to others, when due to the global health crisis that's something we're supposed to be AVOIDING! Is really hard, it's what made me pick something else, because I live alone and talking to people isn't easy when you don't really know them.

    Talking transportation is the hardest...might have to add this to my list next year. The best is my vegetables...focusing on eating veggies has been very good for me! :D

    I listened to one session at AASHE about food sovereignty at colleges and universities...much to think about...

      I listened to the one Thursday morning about the general impacts to college students - expounded upon  due to the pandemic - and especially "impoverished" students, from the perspective debt, degrees and just the difficulties of disadvantagment .

    I could not log in for the life of me yesterday! I did read a food apartheid article that was super good and then I realized it was written by my friend Anna! Ha ha ha...hope you are all keeping up on your challenges!

    veggies are the easiest so far...making time to study water rights and food sovereignty or to talk to someone about transportation is harder...

      I agree making time to study water rights (I chose that too) has been more of a commitment than moving around for me because we already spend so much time looking at our computers... ugh But they have some great sources.

    Why did I join the challenge? Well...I love that we have 3 weeks to try out new greener skills and practices and that we're all in this together! I chose some actions that would deepen my understanding of water issues and food sovereignty issues, so I could understand the underlying issues better and not do actions without understanding or thinking about them!

    Who is affected by polluted water or a lack of access to water in your region? How are they affected?

    Everyone and every living thing is affected by polluted water. We're all connected! We are so species-est and seem to only care when it affects humans and usually the dominant group of humans. The poorest tend to be most affected, but Native American fishing rights have really been affected by dams and industries including agriculture that pollute water. The 2nd article they recommend on this section puts forth the idea of forests, rivers, and natural areas having rights--I'm all for that. They are living and we should be considering the health of the forests as well as humans.
