Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Support Native Communities
Indigenous speaker and activist Winona LaDuke says that, "most indigenous ceremonies, if you look to their essence, are about the restoration of balance — they are a reaffirmation of our relationship to creation. That is our intent: to restore, and then to retain balance and honor our part in creation." Why is balance important to sustainability?

It allows me to move on and not get "stuck" on something. Its not only important to forgive others but with this challenge I really focused on forgiving myself. Its ok to make mistakes. Its ok to not be ok sometimes. Forgiving myself for my shortcomings allows me to pick back up with better energy, refocus and realign.

Very insightful! We tend to be hardest on ourselves! Giving myself and others more grace to shortcomings and stumbles is something I'm also working on.

Im lucky enough to live in a not so populated area, I would say the biggest concern is the water quality and many homes and people affected by lead in their water.

It concerns me that if people continue to destroy the planet it will become inhabitable. I'm a firm believer of making sure your handprint is bigger than your footprint!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Find Local Recycling Depots
Our ability to recycle certain things ebbs and flows based upon many factors, including market demand for recyclables. Luckily there are places that accept uncommon things to recycle or dispose of in a less harmful way. What did you find when looking for places to recycle items that can't be recycled in your curbside bin?

    Nicole Reagan's avatar

I am pretty lucky to be healthy and don't use many toxic chemicals within my home. I do notice that when exposed to heavy or harsh smelling chemicals I tend to get head aches.
I do love indoor plants and I do believe they help to cleanse the air in my home, and they make me happy. Win, Win.
