    When you know who produces your food, you are connecting personally to your complex regional food system. What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? How can knowing their food producers enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?

    Pending on your life style, as informed consumer will can make wiser choices of the food you purchase.  Knowing if the food is being organically produces or not or  how the treat their animals are things to consider when buying local.

    Currently the seats on our HOA board of directors are held  by the developer.  The community residents are petitioning to have representation on the board so we can be heard.

    I recently moved to a community were Recycling is not required. I have reached our to our community leaders to express my concerns and requested they consider instituting a recycling program.

    Participating in the ecochallenge has made me more connected to my community.  I have met more neighbors in the process and appreciate the local business more.

    The conversation was more robust and impactful.  I got more out of the discussion without any distractions and really trying to listen what they were saying.

    It may be the last day of the ecochallenge but everyone should continue to do their part to improve the world around us.
