  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Learn About Trans, Femme, and Nonbinary Experiences
How is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/28/2020 9:44 AM
How is it NOT important? Being accepting of all people is the only way we can live in a sustainable society. The fact that there is the "social norm" to be resistant towards people who are different than you is absurd. Equality amongst the trans, femme, and nonbinary people are important and educating people from a young age, to old, it just as important.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Support a Sharing Economy
What are some of the barriers to sharing economies? What is your plan for supporting or creating one in your community?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/28/2020 9:39 AM
Some barriers to sharing economies are the time and thought that needs to go into this collaborative community. I think most people get stuck on this because they don't have the time and want to get something done fast. Going forward, I've made a pack with my roommate to cut down how many trips we take to the store and start grocery shopping together.

    Simplicity Research My Investment Portfolio
In what ways can you increase the positive impacts and decrease the negative impacts of your financial investments?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/28/2020 9:35 AM
Investing in companies who strive to better the world, not ones who just say they have these programs but companies who actually are doing something to better the community around them. I think going forward it will be key to research the company I invest in before putting my money there.

    Health Reduce Refined Sugar
Before you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/28/2020 9:33 AM
Try to reduce sugar intake has helped my overall energy levels increase and the craving for something sweet at the end of the day.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water Install a Low-Flow Showerhead
How can your region/household prepare for changing water situations in order to become more resilient?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/28/2020 9:31 AM
We can start by reducing the amount of water we use. While this won't solve all the issues, it will help cut down on the usage of water from the time we spend in the shower, how much laundry we do, to leaving the sink faucet running longer than it needs to.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Choose LED Bulbs
Switching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?

    Denielle Zambrowsky's avatar
    Denielle Zambrowsky 10/28/2020 8:12 AM
One thing I learned that I can do to help protect the environment is to look for EPA's ENERGY STAR label. I realized that this label can be seen not only on light bulbs but on other home appliances.

Family game night with my aunt, teaching me how to play the Great Dalmuti - a game she helped create at her old job! I think we both enjoyed substituting watching TV to have a more interactive moment after dinner.

What concerns you the most about how we are affecting the planet? Consider both local and global actions.

What concerns me the most is how people don't care, especially people my age. I wish that it was taught better in school and brought bigger attention to how we impact the planet on a local and global scale. In recent studies, I've realized just how everything can have a trickling effect on us. From the ice melting at a faster rate each year to then water levels rising and taking over land people live on.
