  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Energy Upgrade Heating & Cooling Units
What inspires you to act on sustainable energy and other energy issues?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/24/2020 11:29 AM
Working with sustainable energy motivates me because it gives us more control of our own future.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Improve a Bus Stop
How can you advocate for transportation systems which minimize environmental impact while also meeting human needs?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/23/2020 3:20 PM
The big cities need the collective transportation system better to make it effective so that people prefer to use it and thus we minimize the environmental impact and at the same time satisfy human needs.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Launch a Recycling Program
How might thinking creatively help us address big systems problems differently?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/23/2020 3:17 PM
Creative thinking is always positive, so great things are done to solve problems differently.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Go Paperless
Reducing your paper mail can reduce mental clutter as well as physical waste -- by reducing what is coming in, you can reduce what is going into the recycling bin too. How does it make you feel? What is the next step you will take to reduce your waste?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/21/2020 7:27 AM
Reducing paper mail allows me to have more time available to do other, more important things. I am going to suspend correspondence that I receive that I am not really reading and directly trashing.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Install Alternative Energy
How is your region being affected by climate change? How will it be affected in the future?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/21/2020 7:20 AM
Climate change affects my region in terms of agriculture due to the impact on the pH of the land. This will cause local food shortages in the future.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Replace Manual Thermostats
How do you anticipate replacing your thermostats for programmable ones will positively impact your life?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/20/2020 3:44 PM
Replacing the thermostats in my home with other programmable ones will make it easier for us to use the equipment more effectively and will generate savings in our budget.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Volunteer in My Community
What is one thing you can do to help your community become more sustainable?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar

I am combining sport and the aspect of resilience to educate the children of my community to be more sustainable.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Personal Waste Audit
Why is it often difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/20/2020 7:59 AM
In general, we do not live where the waste from our purchases arrives, so we do not see and understand the impact it has on other people, animals and places.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Water Install a Toilet Tank Bank
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/20/2020 7:52 AM
The significant use of detergents and chemical cleaners impacts the health of water systems locally and globally. We can switch to using biodegradable detergents.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Car Share
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, school, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Luis Arroyo's avatar
    Luis Arroyo 10/19/2020 9:23 AM
Three neighbors agreed to drive to work in one car three times a week.
