Tony Artates 10/28/2020 1:13 PMThe last day. It's been a great Ecochallenge this year even in this plague year. I've learned a lot and hopefully contributed in my own little way to the world. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Learn About Constructive CommunicationHow can you, your loved ones, the community, and environment all benefit from constructive communication?
Tony Artates 10/28/2020 1:12 PMEveryone can benefit from constructive communication because when we are able to talk to one another in a positive way removing emotions from conversations, we can move positively and collectively towards the same path. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Tony Artates 10/27/2020 12:22 PMSpending time outdoors enhances my send of place and appreciation for my surroundings because it exposes you to the glory of the natural world around you. Just beyond the every day toil and traffic lie pockets or whole kingdoms of nature. From city parks in Nashville to gargantuan state parks like Fall Creek Falls near Spencer, TN, you can observe and soak in the beauty of the natural world! -
Tony Artates 10/26/2020 4:19 PMOn the last turn heading for home. Dailies done and experimenting with my one-time actions on LED lightbulbs. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsSwitching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Tony Artates 10/26/2020 4:18 PMFor now, I will experiment with this lightbulb and see how it operates. I can add more later once I know how to properly use this. -
Tony Artates 10/25/2020 6:24 PMLogged my actions and completed my one-time action. It was easier to replace a plane vacation this year because of COVID. I'll have to be more resourceful next year about this. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Stay on the GroundWhat was your process like for restructuring your trip? How can you avoid more air travel in the future?
Tony Artates 10/25/2020 5:39 PMBecause of COVID, I could not celebrate Thanksgiving with my mother and sisters in MSP. I can think of alternative vacations that don't pollute as much as some of the trips I take. -
Tony Artates 10/24/2020 9:51 PMThe dailies have become the norm to do. My one-time goal for today has been to research impact investing. It was a good topic to learn. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Research Impact InvestingHow might impact investing help you better live your values?
Tony Artates 10/24/2020 9:50 PMImpact investing would help me better live my values by putting my money in companies that espouse my values to generate impacts to those ideals I believe in. -
Tony Artates 10/22/2020 11:06 PMMy one-time action today was on recyclables that aren't picked up. Research showed that there are places that can recycle glass. I'll need to make a game plan on how I can start doing this.
