REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Vanessa Berger 10/18/2020 7:11 PMI can help incorporate these concepts more into my life by being cautious of how I'm living and remembering the R's! -
Vanessa Berger 10/18/2020 7:07 PMI had a really great time spending the day outside helping my mom plant flowers in her garden. It was so nice to be able to get outside and enjoy the fresh fall air today. I'm also so glad I got to take the time to be around and plant such gorgeous flowers and get to learn a little about them too. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:20 PMI think people in richer countries have more of an opportunity to eat more meat because of their economic status. But, by eating more meat it can be bad for our environment by creating more co2 and waste. -
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:18 PMMy people's eco challenge is going pretty well it took me a bit to actually figure out how to get points and have them all register for when I did the action. But, I think I've got it mostly figured out now how to use the website. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:14 PMBy choosing to go down to a local farmers market and buy produce from them. instead of going to the grocery store were the produce is being shipped in from all over the world. Steps like these can do more good by buying local and helping out local farmers. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:13 PMBy practicing things like gratitude daily it can help allow people to stay motivated by showing them what they are thankful for and how to make those things they are thankful for better. By coming up with better and more sustainable practices that make the things we're thankful for better. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Nurture Self-CompassionHow can nurturing your Self-Compassion also nurture healthier relationships with others and the environment?
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:10 PMI think by nurturing your own self compassion you can help to better your relationship with other and the environment because if you know more about yourself and are comfortable with who you are. The easier it is to focus on other things like helping others and the environment. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Go for a Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:09 PMI like to take a walk each day with my dog because it's a good way to get some exercise. As well as it helps me feel more connected to the environment around me by talking some time out of my day to just relax and walk and observe the nature around me. I find it's a great peaceful way to relax. -
Vanessa Berger 10/14/2020 3:02 PMI'm excited to be participating in the Eco challenge because I think it's a great way to show simple daily things we can do to help better the environment.
