  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Engage In Active Listening
What was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation(s) benefit from active listening?

    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 2:27 PM
It's good to actively listen to someone because you would want them to actively listen to you when you're talking. Knowing that you guys both are actively listening will make a better conversation.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Transportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 2:24 PM
A fuel efficient vehicle would help the air quality and let out less Air Pollutants.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Core Values
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 2:22 PM
My 3 core values are respect, honesty, and trust. My dad imbedded these core values in me when I was younger.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 1:36 PM
It makes me feel good that I am contributing to change because using a reusable coffee cup makes a big change even though it seems little.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

Every time I go grocery shopping I bring my set of reusable bags for my groceries and If I forget them then I use a paper bag. I never use plastic bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

In my house we recycle things and have a compost bin set up. I also reuse by turning old containers into tupperware. I also craft old clothes into new clothes.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health More Fruits and Veggies
How does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 1:27 PM
When I eat healthy foods I have more energy throughout the day. Meat overall is not good for our bodies and is very unhealthy.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Car Share
Take a moment to think of places you frequent often (work, grocery store, school, natural areas). Could you choose one or two days a week to schedule driving with a friend, neighbor or co-worker to these places?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 1:25 PM
I often carpool with neighbor and with my roommate when we grocery shop or are going to the same area of town.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Health Go Get a Check Up
How do you practice self care?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/27/2020 1:23 PM
I make sure to go to the doctors every few months to make sure everything is going okay with my body.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Malaya Brannon's avatar
    Malaya Brannon 10/11/2020 6:10 PM
Some barriers may include remembering to use the water bottle but I can make this a permanent habit by buying a hydro flask. Since its so expensive I'm definitely going to remember to use it. It's a good investment.
