REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Learn About & Practice Sustainable FashionHow can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?
Sherry Carberry 10/23/2020 7:26 AMI am guilty of having too many clothes. I am trying hard not to buy anything new and just continue to wear what I have until it falls apart. Even sustainable fashions create waste if we really do not need them. -
Sherry Carberry 10/19/2020 9:23 AMI find this statement to be sad "Dave Rogers, the Sierra Club's Southeast deputy regional director for the Beyond Coal campaign, said he was disappointed with the commitment to natural gas. "Duke's plan to double down on fracked gas means a deadly explosive will continue to pump through our communities, putting our safety and health at risk," he said." People do not understand how hard we work to provide safe and reliable energy to all economic groups.-
Michelle Abbott 10/20/2020 5:24 AMSherry, You are so right! I also cringed at that statement.

Sherry Carberry 10/19/2020 9:19 AMI don't buy bottled water at home. I use my filtered water dispensed from my refrigerator. However, in my upcoming kitchen remodel I was thinking of replacing the fridge with one that does no have the water/ice dispenser. Any suggestion on the best way to get cool good tasting water? I would love to drink the water from the tap, but it does not taste very good. -
Sherry Carberry 10/14/2020 11:10 AMAt my power plant, I walk every where. I walk an average of 3 to 4 miles a day. I am the only one that does this, everyone else uses a gas powered work cart. I enjoy the walking, it gives me time to think about what I need to do at work and it helps keep me in good health.-
Michelle Abbott 10/14/2020 3:58 PMWow, that is incredible! I sit at a desk all day long.

REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Research and Consider Switching to a Hybrid or Electric VehicleReducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?
Sherry Carberry 10/12/2020 9:35 AMI do not think that electric vehicles are the best choice for now, because the batteries require rare earth minerals that require mining. These mines a not safe work places and they impact the enviornment. In addition, at some point the batteries become waste. I like the idea of reducing emissions, but we must look at the whole process of making the cars to disposal of the cars.-
Sherry Carberry 10/13/2020 4:09 AMYes, I think we should think twice about getting a new cell phone if our current one is working. I did not see an action to reduce our purchases of electronics. -
Michelle Abbott 10/12/2020 5:18 PMSadly this is also true for a lot of electronics. Apple, Telsa and other companies are striving to address these concerns.
