REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Kylie Cipriano 10/28/2020 5:22 PMRicher countries tend to have larger economies and populations. This enables the market contain meat from lots of different sources and also enables large scale manufacturing which usually costs less. Rich countries also have more access to resources/cheap goods to fuel their economies. Eating more meat affects our planet as meat manufacturing is often bad for the environment. Runoff into surface or ground water sources from farms is contaminated. Livestock also produces a lot of waste and releases a lot of methane. Not to mention the strain put on the land and the animals being raised for food.
