Elaine Cole 10/28/2020 9:28 AMIn honor of the last day of the challenge I am off to SCRAP Creative Reuse in Portland to drop off a bunch of odd items I have sorted as a part of my decluttering action. This is a great 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community. If you have a hard time letting go of stuff in our house or are a saver of random things, look at their list of items they accept and it may help you to know these will be put to good use.

Elaine Cole 10/27/2020 10:53 AMGreat weather for getting out for my walks and runs this week. Leaves are turning and the temperatures are cool and crisp. -
Elaine Cole 10/23/2020 7:52 PMA full day!! Almost completed all my actions. -
Elaine Cole 10/22/2020 8:56 AMMorning temperatures are in the low 30's so it is tempting to just turn on the heat. But we are all bundling up, down comforters are on the beds and I made hot cocoa for the kids after they walked the dog. -
Elaine Cole 10/21/2020 4:01 PMDoes it Spark Joy or not? If not, I thank it for being in my life and pass it on. -
Elaine Cole 10/20/2020 11:11 AMI am attending the Association of Oregon Recyclers Conference this month and today's session is on some of the latest behavior change recycling research in Oregon and Washington. Plastic bags are STILL the biggest contaminant in co-mingled recycling and in the municipal recycling facilities. -
Elaine Cole 10/19/2020 10:22 AMI am enjoying my decluttering action and this week I am transitioning from summer to winter clothes to do my biannual sorting and purging in my wardrobe. Evening temperatures are dropping into 30-40's this week so that will be good to put my summer skirts away. -
Elaine Cole 10/17/2020 8:11 PMFull day today and I did not get my walk in, arghh. -
Elaine Cole 10/16/2020 10:53 AMGot my run in early this morning but I also said I would be walking each day too so it has been a bit of a challenge, pun intended. So, I need to plan my walk with the family at the end of the day. My new tactic to get the kids to join is walking around our neighborhood to see the Halloween decorations that are goin up each day. So fun! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Go for a Daily Walk OutsideFresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?
Elaine Cole 10/15/2020 1:41 PMI need breaks from my numerous Zoom meetings so taking a walk is a perfect way to rejuvenate my brain and body. Wish I could pull away more.
