  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Work-Life Balance
How might practicing work-life balance lead to a more sustainable life for yourself? How might it contribute to sustainability more broadly?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/23/2020 5:41 AM
Life itself is a balance. Most of the time we are responsible for breaking this balance because we do not know how to maintain a work-life balance. Many of us think that we owe ourselves to work as it is our source of income, but nevertheless we break the balance of the family. The work-life balance will help us to be more sustainable in life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Forage for My Food
People are motivated to forage for many different reasons: as a source for food, a means of income, to connect with nature, to participate in cultural tradition, transmitting specific ecological knowledge, or as a means of stewarding local and native plant populations are just a few examples. What is your chief motivation for foraging?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/23/2020 5:36 AM
I like to forage to connect with nature.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/23/2020 5:35 AM
The simpler a solution, the more creative it tends to be. Most of the time we complicate our lives looking for complicated solutions and the solution is in a simple one.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Plant Trees
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/23/2020 5:29 AM
I love gardening, it helps me to reduce my stress. When I decided to plant a tree it helps me to do some exercise while planting. My spiritual health is fullfilled when I sit down in the tree shadow to read.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Leave No Trace
Educator Stephanie Kaza advises her students to focus on what they care about most when addressing the enormity of ecological problems. Is there a specific area you feel particularly called to work on?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/22/2020 4:10 PM
Pollution is a huge ecological problem. The government must work against it developing law in benefit of the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Join An Outdoor Project
How well do you know the area you live in? In what ways is a deep knowledge of your surroundings -- known as a 'sense of place' -- important to you?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/22/2020 4:07 PM
I know my community very well because I walk frequently. It is important to have sense of place.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Know My Health
How do you deal with the physical and emotional stress of the big problems we face? How can you help others cope?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/22/2020 4:04 PM
Optimism is the best tool we can use to cope with problems and teach others to do the same.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Forgiveness
How has the process of forgiving, or contemplating forgiveness, benefited you?

    christian corchado's avatar
    christian corchado 10/22/2020 4:00 PM
Forgiving is a gift that is not easy for many of us, since people who do good always expect the same from others.
