Justin Green 10/26/2020 1:56 PMBased on how cold its been the last few days, I think its safe to assume winter is officially on our doorstep. I plan to move all my fruit bearing plants inside for the winter to try and keep fresh crop coming in all year. Hooray for indoor grow tents! -
Justin Green 10/23/2020 1:47 PMDid another nature walk this afternoon with the dog. Today I decided to help out my area a little by picking up any litter I found along the way. Fortunately, people in my area are pretty considerate, so there was only 2 pieces. It's a nice reassurance to know people clean up after them selves and dispose of waste properly. -
Justin Green 10/22/2020 12:18 PMGreat afternoon for a walk outside. I've been lowering my eco-footprint this week by not using any plastic bags when I visit stores. It's actually been a lot easier then expected. With all the options for reusable bags or paper, its a wonder why we haven't completely moved away from plastic bags altogether. Maybe soon though! -
Justin Green 10/20/2020 11:20 AMOff to an early start this morning with a brief nature walk with the pup and some repotting of some new plants. Go to love early morning gardening. -
Justin Green 10/19/2020 3:21 PMI attempted to carry any trash I created for the day on my person today. I actually had to give up by mid day this time because I had already accumulated more then I could carry in just my hands. I thought about strapping on a backpack to try and push through to the end of the day, but I figured the point was made. We create an incredible amount of waste in such a short time. I extremely surprised it never hit me before this moment just how quickly that waste accumulates! -
Justin Green 10/15/2020 4:42 PMDid my daily nature walk today. Great day for getting that Vitamin D flowing through your system , love seeing the sun out and about! -
Justin Green 10/14/2020 7:31 PMDid some harvesting from the garden this morning. Got fresh strawberries, tomatoes, and a bit of what Oregon grows best; cannabis. My roommate and I also potted our Venus flytraps in some new soil, so hopefully they'll be extra happy going into winter! -
Justin Green 10/11/2020 6:29 PMGot around to finding a good spot on the window sill for my new plants. I've named my Venus Fly Trap Jim. Welcome to your new home buddy! -
Justin Green 10/10/2020 3:19 PMDay 3 of the Eco-challenge. Made a successful run to the farmer's market. I had never been before, so it was super interesting to see all the fruits and vegetables that are grown locally here. Picked up some spicy honey, apples, and pork links to name a few of the goodies we acquired there. Cant wait to taste it all! I also bought some succulents for my room to bring a little nature to my home. -
Justin Green 10/08/2020 3:50 PMPlanned a couple meals for the weekend ahead and went on my daily walk in nature. That PNW gloom is back for a day and I am thoroughly enjoying it!
My roommates and I are looking into going to the local farmers market this weekend. I'm excited to get my hands on some fresh locally grown veggies!
