This week I found myself inadvertently working from home as a precautionary quarantine - working from home is surprisingly effective and I have not driven anywhere since Sunday..............can I get a little yay?
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Adjust the Thermostat
Your utility company is able to tell you your average energy usage. Ask them how your energy usage compares to others in your ZIP code, region, and/or state. What other steps can you take each day to reduce your electricity usage?

Although it is very proactive to reach out to the utility companies, our power company currently shares information about our usage in comparison with our surrounding neighbors. This past February we had a new security system installed in our home and the package included a Nest thermostat that has the ability to mimic our schedules and automatically adjusts the temperature - turning it down when we are away, and reacting to our presence as soon as we arrive home. No more wondering "did I remember to turn it down before we left home".
    Convenient and efficient !
