I watched the documentary 13th on netflix. When i watched it i learned a lot about how african american people were segregated, the struggles they had to go through to gain rights, the attacks that were inflicted upon them, and more. I also  learned  about how politicians used the rise in crime ( in the baby boomer age a rise in crime happened) to say that this was because of african american people gaining rights, which wasnt true at all, and a lot more about how black people have been affected in history. I also learned about how african american people used to be arrested a lot, (not just for bad crimes for very petty crimes too like loitering) and they used the fact that these people were "criminals" to use them as slaves since the constiiution said that if people were criminals that they could be slaves. Its really awful to see what happened to african american people in america, and how they still are discriminated against today.

When i spend time outdoors i'm more aware of my surroundings and of all the details and i tend to be more aware of things. I think going outdoors and studying whats around you and noticing things, can make you more aware.
