REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Try a New Way to PrepCanning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?
Angela Ireton 10/28/2020 9:37 AMSourdough starter is in progress. excited to see how it turns out. I also made butternut squash gnocchi using a squash I grew in my garden and it was great! -
Angela Ireton 10/16/2020 8:39 AMI have been reading up on regenerative agriculture- a process of farming that helps keep carbon in the soil, and make that soil healthier for future years of growing. Current modern day farming practices with big machines are so disruptive to the soil, and release tons of carbon into the air every year. Definitely will be doing more research, and will start supporting regenerative agriculture based farms in my local area. Hoping to find one that does a CSA box! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Do Nature ActivitiesWhat did you observe while spending time outside -- through sight, sound, smell and/or touch?
Angela Ireton 10/07/2020 11:42 AMI went on a walk around my neighborhood at lunch, and picked up trash- so many cigarette butts, ketchup packets, straws, and plastic cutlery, especially near our baseball field. I walked by my neighbors house, and she has the most wonderful xeriscape garden. Different plants bloom throughout the year, and its always a treat to see whats new. Very inspirational for my own front yard garden plans! -
