REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Watch a Documentary about Racial InjusticeWhat did you learn about racial injustice in the documentary(ies) you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of sustainability?
Elaine Jordão 10/23/2020 11:15 AMRacial injustice has deep historical roots and it is defined as racist thoughts, practices and actions that are ingrained and embedded in the central bases of society. The environmental damage generated by economic activities affects more significantly certain ethnic groups, in particular those racially excluded from the processes of political participation and in situations of social and economic vulnerability.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use Reusable BagsWhat do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?
Elaine Jordão 10/20/2020 5:48 AMIn this situation, I think I would carry things out with my hands. If I find myself in this position often, I would by a small cart to carry things out. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Choose Organic IngredientsMany people say that “you can’t feed the world with just organic food.” How would you respond to that statement?
Elaine Jordão 10/20/2020 5:40 AMI think it is possible to feed the world with organic food but it would be necessary to change habits. -
