The 5-minute shower challenge has been really good because it helped me organize my time better and to reduce the water bill just a tiny bit more.

This is the solar panel on the roof of our house. We are saving much electricity and paying fewer bills because of it!

Our house has a huge rooftop, so my dad ordered the solar panel and mounted it. It has been a huge help to our electricity bill.

    Health Eliminate Toxic Plastics
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?

It was actually a difficult task to not buy the toxic plastics because I live in Korea and it is sort of impossible to replace things with non-plastic option. Everything comes in a plastic bottle and plastic straws. I feel like the only way I can replace them is to order my drinks in a glass cup or just don't buy drinks when I am out and about.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

I feel like this is one of the hardest challenges I'm facing every day because I like to take a long and hot shower. I don't really feel clean if I'm not taking enough time in the shower since I workout a lot and sweat a ton. However, I decided to set a timer whenever I go take a shower. Maybe this will help me achieve my daily goals of saving water.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

I needed to buy a pack of underwear but the one I wanted to get was a Ralph Lauren underwear for $50. Suddenly, I remembered this Eco challenge that I signed up to and decided to lower down my price range and bought something inexpensive but very good quality boxers.
I personally wasn't satisfied with my purchase but I think it was a good solid step towards my simplicity eco-challenge.

What would a sustainable water future in your region look like? What needs to change?

I felt like this was not a very good idea because of the odor it will create in the bathroom but as I did it the other day, it was really weird not to flush the toilet after using it. I need to figure out a way to get rid of the bad odor in the restroom. But so far so good!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

By doing this, I began to have more gratitude towards small things in life. I was thankful for the eggs in the morning, running electricity, and running hot water. I feel like I wasn't getting pissed off easily and annoyed easily because I had a heart filled with gratitude. I think it has stretched my ability to see things in an opposite way.
