It is going good so far. It is getting me thinking of my actions.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Research Local Waste Sites
In what neighborhoods or areas of your region are landfills or other waste sites located? Which communities are most affected by these locations?

There is a landfill located only a few miles outside of my home town. We are about to be most affected by it as our water is part of the assiniboine watershed, just like the landfill, so any particles that contaminate the water will contaminate drinking water for people and organisms of the area.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

If you do not have a bag, be creative in what you purchase to ensure you will not need a bag when you go to check out. Carry your bags in and pick your groceries based on what will fit in the bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Carry my Trash
What one thing could you do right away to reduce your waste?

Purchase produce that is not in packages and use reuseable bags to carry it home.
