REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity MeditateWhat would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?
Anudeep Medam 10/28/2020 11:03 AMI would like to invest time in being thankful for what I have and not to get greedy or selfish. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Learn About Local Environmental Justice ConcernsWho is most affected by environmental degradation and/or environmental irresponsiblity in your community? How are they affected?
Anudeep Medam 10/28/2020 10:58 AMI think all over it is the farmers who bear the brunt of any environmental degradation. The degradation affects wildlife, climate change which in turn afeects us all and farmers especially due to uneven weather causing loss of crops. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Choose LED BulbsSwitching out your lightbulbs is an excellent first step toward energy efficiency! In what other ways can you exercise your civic duty to protect the environment and reduce carbon emissions?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2020 11:39 AMEnsure to unplug the appliances when not in use. When buying any power intensive appliances, look at the consumption rating of those. Even if the upfront cost is high, the long term cost will be lesser. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Engage In Active ListeningWhat was it like to actively listen to someone? How did both people and the conversation(s) benefit from active listening?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2020 11:32 AMI pride myself on being an active listener. But, I do sometime zone out if I think the person is 'boring'. I tried to make a conscious effort to listen to the person and surprisingly the person made some valid points. Moving forward will try to be more open. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal ForgivenessHow has the process of forgiving, or contemplating forgiveness, benefited you?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2020 11:26 AMI have been trying to be more forgiving from a long time. This has helped me from being a negative person to being positive and optimistic. Life is too short to hold grudges and especially in the Covid times, death of many acquaintances' parent/s has only made me resolve stronger in this apect. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Donate to or Volunteer for Low-Income Solar InitiativesEquitable access, environmental justice and creating employment opportunities are just a few advantages of low-income solar programs. Can you think of other benefits that could come from initiatives like this? Which advantages of low-income solar do you find the most compelling?
Anudeep Medam 10/27/2020 11:21 AMI have seen many people who are unable to afford heaters at home in the cold weathers because of electricity costs. They would rather have some light. This will help the low income houeseholds to use heaters and maybe consume very less electricity from the utility. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Research Voter SuppressionWhat are the ways in which voters are prohibited from or discouraged from voting in your region and/or state? What could be done to get rid of these barriers?
Anudeep Medam 10/24/2020 2:23 PMSince I cannot vote, the observations are from a 3rd party perspective.
I've heard that the voter suppression in my region in US is very less. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Learn More about Food ApartheidWhat can lack of access to nutritious food affect a community? How can having access to nutritious food help a community become more resilient?
Anudeep Medam 10/23/2020 4:54 PMHealthy food leads to healthy body. Healthy body leads to healthy mind. Healthy mind leads to healthy actions by the individual and healthy individuals will in turn form a resilient community. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole Community Learn About Trans, Femme, and Nonbinary ExperiencesHow is equality for trans, femme, and nonbinary people important to a just and sustainable society?
Anudeep Medam 10/22/2020 1:36 PMThere is a saying which goes, "It takes a village to raise the child". With internet, the whole world has become one village and only when every person is treated fairly irrespective of one's age, race, gender etc, can we hope for a safe and sutainable society where all of us can focus on fighting larger issues. -
Anudeep Medam 10/22/2020 1:29 PMIt is far easier to save water than we think. Especially for the activities like brushing teeth. Either turn off the faucet or use a mug/glass to save water.
