  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Food Reduce Animal Products
Why do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?

    aoife o'connell's avatar
    aoife o'connell 10/12/2020 9:18 AM
people in richer countries generally have access to organic and nicer foods. eating lots and lots of meat is not only unhealthy, but also bad for the planet. i am a vegetarian.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Learn About & Practice Sustainable Fashion
How can you express your personality, creativity, and values in ways that don't require fast fashion or buying more clothes and accessories?

    aoife o'connell's avatar
    aoife o'connell 10/08/2020 10:07 AM
By buying from sustainable stores, such as Urban Outfitters, and thrifting, which I do a lot, I can be more sustainable with my fashion choices.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Reduce Single-Use Disposables
What single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What did you substitute or could be substituted instead?

    aoife o'connell's avatar
    aoife o'connell 10/08/2020 10:05 AM
We used to use plastic straws, but now we use metal/bamboo straws. We also reuse the compostable bags from the grocery store to pick up my dog's poop.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Water 5-Minute Showers
Name some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?

    aoife o'connell's avatar

I won't pour paint down the drain because that goes to the ocean. Everything that goes down the drain will be eco-friendly, including my shampoo, conditioner, and skincare products.

yeah! it's also really important to make sure any of your products are polyethylene free, and it's important to research other ingredients that are harmful and read through your ingredients mindfully.
