REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Emily Radomski 10/28/2020 4:20 PMStop buying new clothes from 'fast fashion' brands (or just about any brand). Fast fashion is just awful all around, for the planet and the people that make it. Thrifting is much more environmentally friendly and fun! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
Emily Radomski 10/26/2020 5:07 PMI think the money I save from making more energy efficient choices just goes into the supplies to do that (LED bulbs cost more, the 'cleaner energy' option from my electricity service provider costs more, etc). -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Family Game HourHow does being playful with others enrich your life?
Emily Radomski 10/23/2020 2:49 PMPlay is essential for an enriching life. It releases stress, fosters creativity, deepens relationships, can be educational, and is just fun. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal Joyful MovementWhat's your favorite activity(ies) in which you experience joy while being active and moving?
Emily Radomski 10/21/2020 1:51 PMRecently I've started having solo dance parties. I've always hated dancing in front of others, so I thought I just hated dancing. Turns out it's really fun when it's just me :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Personal Waste AuditWhy is it often difficult to understand the impacts our purchases and waste have on other people, animals, and places?
Emily Radomski 10/14/2020 12:44 PMSo many reasons for this. There is so much separation between the gathering of materials and the end product received by the consumer, with big complex systems and little transparency. It's also why shopping local is important, so you have a better idea of where something came from and how its creation affected its surroundings. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Emily Radomski 10/12/2020 2:17 PMThis weekend my partner and I had a "Screen-less Sunday." It was so tempting to check our usual social media and news sites, but the reward was that the day felt SO MUCH LONGER by being more present and not being a screen zombie. We hope to continue this every week.-
Sara Bowersox 10/12/2020 4:37 PMWell done, you! When my kiddos were young (before they had homework), we did screen free weekends. I miss them!!!!! It was great to read books, play games and take family naps.

REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Sign Up to VoteWhy is voting important to creating a just, sustainable, and thriving world? In what other ways can you actively participate in important decision-making?
Emily Radomski 10/08/2020 3:59 PMI've never been more impatient to receive my ballot than I am for this year's election. I've also learned a lot about how important voting is on the local and state levels, too. But it's also about more than voting once every few years, it's important to stay involved continuously and hold those elected accountable.
