Action Track: Healing and Renewal
Healthy Sleep
Do at Home
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 60 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Waste
Use a Reusable Water Bottle
Do at Home
I will keep 4 disposable plastic bottle(s) from entering the waste stream by using a reusable water bottle.
Water
Say No to Plastic Straws
Do at Home
An estimated 71% of seabirds and 30% of turtles have been found with plastics in their stomachs. When they ingest plastic, marine life has a 50% mortality rate. By asking for no straw when placing a drink order, I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) of out of the ocean each day.
Water
5-Minute Showers
Do at Home
I will save up to 20 gallons (75 L) of water each day by taking 5-minute showers.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

NOAH SANCHEZ 10/19/2020 6:40 AMI think it is going fine and I like helping the enviroment by doing simple things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Say No to Plastic StrawsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
NOAH SANCHEZ 10/19/2020 6:39 AMI use these items all the time but now with this Eco Challenge I am going to try and use different items to help reduce plastic waste. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
NOAH SANCHEZ 10/19/2020 6:35 AMTaking a shower for a long time, pools, and brushing your teeth for a long time. I think if people just conserved more water we would improve our local water system. To help the oceans I would say to not pollute any where because that could end up in the ocean today. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable Water BottleWhile water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?
NOAH SANCHEZ 10/19/2020 6:32 AMI can make this a permanent habbit because I can just use a cup instead of drinking up to 4 bottles of water.
