We use milk packets on daily basis while preparing Tea/Coffee in our homes. Its very convenient to snip or tear off a portion of the milk sachet or chips packets. I saw on some posts that, One household generates probably three to four sachets or packets on a daily basis. Compare this with the large-scale use of such packets, a consolidated number of which could be much larger. Even if these pieces are thrown into a designated non-biodegradable bin, we never know what happens to the small portions.
Ideally, such packets or sachets should be opened by cutting a line halfway across the cover. But if a portion of the packet is snipped off, make sure to put it in the main packet before disposing of it.
Few months ago I read this, and from that day I make sure i cut the milk packet halfway across. By doing this we can  avoid these small portions from covering the landfills.
