Adam's actions
Simplicity
Family Game Hour
Do at Home
I will spend quality time with family and friends by playing low-tech game(s) and/or through the spirit of imagination.
Water
Install a Toilet Tank Bank
Do at Home
I will reduce the amount of water flushed and save up to 11 gallons (41 L) of water each day by installing a toilet tank bank.
Simplicity
Eat Mindfully
Do at Home
I will eat all of my meals without distractions, e.g., phone, computer, TV, or newspaper.
Nature
Support Local Pollinators
Do at Home
At least 30% of crops and 90% of flowering plants rely on pollinators to produce fruit. I will spend 30 minutes researching which plants support local native pollinators and plant some in my yard.
Water
Collect Rain Water
Do at Home
I will create a rain garden or bioswale or use rain barrels to collect water for outdoor watering needs.
Action Track: Healing and Renewal
Practice Gratitude for Earth
Do at Home
I will spend 15 minute(s) per day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and my natural surroundings.
Nature
Enjoy the Sunrise/Sunset
Do at Home
I will enjoy the sunrise and/or sunset each day.
Waste
Research Local Waste Sites
Do at Home
I will spend 30 minutes finding out where landfills and/or toxic waste sites are situated in my region and which communities are most impacted by these sites.
Health
Exercise Daily
Do at Home
Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 25 minute(s) each day.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
Do at Home
I will replace 20 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.

Adam Stein 10/28/2020 5:30 PMI'm proud to see all the efforts of Columbia bankers from the past couple of weeks. Looking forward to seeing what we carry forward from here. -
Adam Stein 10/28/2020 9:36 AMI always enjoy the chance to express gratitude. It seems to me that there is an overwhelming amount of opportunities to be negative in our world, so having a chance to reflect on positive things is great. -
Adam Stein 10/27/2020 8:18 AMI'm thinking about what else I can do to help my cat companions join in the eco fun. For the amount they lay around each day, it's amazing to me how much they use their litter boxes. Thankfully we have compostable bags and biodegradable litter, but I wonder what else we can do...-

Adam Stein 10/25/2020 2:53 PMReflecting on this eco challenge. I'm glad to see that my partner and I are on the right track. We are doing many of the actions laid out in this challenge, and getting ideas for additional things we haven't done. -
