Community
Support Comerica's National Day of Service
As an extension to Comerica's National Day of Service in September, consider conducting a virtual volunteer action that supports our communities. Since there are no organized in-person river, beach or lake clean-ups in most communities this year, if you would like, you can consider cleaning up around your house and neighborhood to support your local environment as neighborhood storm drains commonly drain to local water bodies. Please do not invite others outside of your household if you choose this action.

REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Reduce Refined SugarBefore you started this challenge, did you think you were 'addicted' to sugar? How do you feel now?
Jennifer Thompson 10/28/2020 12:25 PMYes, I know I was addicted to sugar. I did go through a bit of withdrawals causing headaches, but I feel much better. Plus it helped with my budget and future health concerns. Each of my sibling deal with different levels of diabetes and I do not have any issues with this disease. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Jennifer Thompson 10/28/2020 12:23 PMWe can always remember the bad, but it's always good to look at the wonderful, unexpected and overlooked things in our lives. It's good to journal so you can look back at year or years from now and see what you were thankful for. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Eliminate Toxic PlasticsWhat single-use items (e.g. straws, coffee cups, vegetable bags, plastic bags) do you regularly use? What could be substituted instead?
Jennifer Thompson 10/28/2020 12:21 PMI drank a lot of pop (soft drinks). By cutting back on these beverages I am cutting back on my usage of plastic bottles and metal can and also decreasing my sugar intake. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth More Fruits and VeggiesHow does eating more fruits and vegetables and less meat positively affect yourself, other people, and our planet?
Jennifer Thompson 10/28/2020 12:20 PMEating more meats only clogs my digestive system. By eating more fruits and veggies, I can gain more fiber, ingredients with a straight source of vitamins and allows my systems to be much more cleaner. -
