How might thinking creatively help us address big systems problems differently?

    Hayden Town's avatar

A small stroke of creativity can cause big changes in many, if not all, cases! Allowing people to think outside the box and brainstorm ideas not thought of before can change the world. A great book on stemming creativity is called 'Creativity Inc.' written by one of the executives (still there I think) at Pixar. So inspiring!

    Nature Plant Trees
How is planting trees good for your mental, physical, and spiritual health?

    Hayden Town's avatar
    Hayden Town 10/25/2020 2:23 PM
I think taking care of another living thing - in this case a tree that is planted - that is dependent on you is grounds for a great connection, mentally, physically, and spiritually. Seeing it grow and flourish due to your care is great! Looking forward to seeing how this tree can fare!

What did you learn about in the documentary you watched? How did it make you feel?

    Hayden Town's avatar
    Hayden Town 10/25/2020 11:16 AM
We watched a documentary on sustainable home living; the video definitely made all of us want to do more with our own home regarding more sustainable efforts; e.g., wall insulation techniques, sources and handling of water, gardening inside the house or a green house, etc. Very cool!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Transportation Advocate for Greener Vehicles
Reducing (or eliminating) exhaust emissions and improving public health are two benefits of green vehicles. What other motivators inspire you to consider switching to a more fuel-efficient vehicle?

    Hayden Town's avatar
    Hayden Town 10/25/2020 9:14 AM
I reached out to my university's student leadership council to get them to try and implement more eco-friendly vehicles on and around campus for students, staff, etc. I hope a more sustainable solution can be developed, or at least a dialogue started among that leadership.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Support Local Pollinators
Why is it important to take care of pollinators?

    Hayden Town's avatar
    Hayden Town 10/25/2020 8:53 AM
Pollinators are substantially important for the entire planet. The amount of things that rely on pollinators is pretty staggering; e.g., many foods that humans and animals rely on, more and better quality crops, and plant biodiversity around the world.

Besides those two important things, I see a switch to a more eco-friendly vehicle as an additional push towards the world's transition to more sustainable vehicles.
