Community

Support Comerica's National Day of Service

As an extension to Comerica's National Day of Service in September, consider conducting a virtual volunteer action that supports our communities. Since there are no organized in-person river, beach or lake clean-ups in most communities this year, if you would like, you can consider cleaning up around your house and neighborhood to support your local environment as neighborhood storm drains commonly drain to local water bodies. Please do not invite others outside of your household if you choose this action.

Participant Feed

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Excited to formally kick-up the people's ecochallenge!  This event is a great way to start/enforce good habits.  I like the idea of self-awareness and mindfulness. Makes the world a better place.

    Waste Prevent Recycling Contamination
What have you learned about what is accepted by local haulers for recycling, what you can drop off or ship to certain places, and what is not recyclable in your area? What is the most difficult part of recycling for you?

I have been educating myself on our local recycling operation and what is NOT recyclable.  I am constantly talking to my family about being mindful about cleaning recyclable items before placing them in the recycle bin.  I find the most difficult thing about recycling is peanut butter containers! So hard to get clean!

How can nurturing your Self-Compassion also nurture healthier relationships with others and the environment?

Self compassion makes you happier as a person and your relationships definitely benefit from that.

It makes you focus on what really matters vs. daily activities that seem like a burden.
