REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Family Game HourHow does being playful with others enrich your life?
Meghan Wirtner 10/28/2020 8:49 PMHaving an active little one this time around has led to lots of playful time. Turning everyday items or tasks into games is both equally humbling and entertaining. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Less Screen TimeWhat did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?
Meghan Wirtner 10/28/2020 8:46 PMThe first couple of days of this challenge was very difficult for me. Most recreational activities I was doing at the end of a long day still led to either being on the phone, tablet or tv, so shifting back to a good book really led me to escape for a time being. I would say it significantly lowered my stress from all the doom and gloom that has been 2020. Ended going through 5-6 new books. Challenge well spent! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Invite a Friend to Calculate the Carbon Footprint of their HouseholdWhat kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?
Meghan Wirtner 10/28/2020 8:40 PMUsing the calculator gave them something concrete to look to in a monetary value per month. Carbon footprint an a very abstract concept to most people so it's hard to quantify it in everyday terms. By framing it like a bill, that you could potentially get rid of, it opens the door for some meaningful change. -
Meghan Wirtner 10/28/2020 8:37 PMHere's another challenge at its end! That really flew by this year, hope everyone got the most out of it. -
Meghan Wirtner 10/23/2020 5:44 PMHappy Friday! Hope everyone is now in the challenge groove and making meaningful changes. -
Meghan Wirtner 10/22/2020 2:30 PMBeen spending my non screen time discovering some new books and getting a jump start on my handmade xmas presents! Much more relaxing and productive! -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Meghan Wirtner 10/17/2020 6:50 PMSpending time in nature helps put things back in perspective for me. The world is large and we are just a small portion of it. It allows time to pause and offers a deep cleansing breath giving one the chance to reset. -
Meghan Wirtner 10/17/2020 6:46 PMFound a great new place, close to home, but that felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! So many trails and places to explore. -
Meghan Wirtner 10/12/2020 1:17 PMHope everyone had a restful and recharging weekend! -
Meghan Wirtner 10/09/2020 11:42 AMIt's much easier to spend chunks of my day outside when working from home, but balancing that screen time has become more difficult. If I'm not on my computer, I'm checking email on my phone. Definitely something to work on!
