Having an active little one this time around has led to lots of playful time. Turning everyday items or tasks into games is both equally humbling and entertaining.

What did you notice in implementing this challenge? Was it hard to choose other activities over screen time? How did you decide to spend your time?

The first couple of days of this challenge was very difficult for me. Most recreational activities I was doing at the end of a long day still led to either being on the phone, tablet or tv, so shifting back to a good book really led me to escape for a time being. I would say it significantly lowered my stress from all the doom and gloom that has been 2020. Ended going through 5-6 new books. Challenge well spent!

What kinds of discussions did you have, or are you hoping to have with friends about climate change?

Using the calculator gave them something concrete to look to in a monetary value per month. Carbon footprint an a very abstract concept to most people so it's hard to quantify it in everyday terms. By framing it like a bill, that you could potentially get rid of, it opens the door for some meaningful change.

How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

Spending time in nature helps put things back in perspective for me. The world is large and we are just a small portion of it. It allows time to pause and offers a deep cleansing breath giving one the chance to reset.

Found a great new place, close to home, but that felt like we were in the middle of nowhere! So many trails and places to explore.

It's much easier to spend chunks of my day outside when working from home, but balancing that screen time has become more difficult. If I'm not on my computer, I'm checking email on my phone. Definitely something to work on!
