Action Track: Healing and Renewal
Healthy Sleep
Do at Home
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 60 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Nature
Explore My Area
I will explore at least one new hiking trail or nature walk in my area.
Waste
Repair Old Clothes
I will repair one article of clothing each day to add back into my closet and avoid wanting to buy newer clothes.
Community
CONNECT WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
I will connect with a friend or family member each day, whether it is through a letter, card or phone call to check in on how they're doing and wish them well.
Action Track: Healing and Renewal
Practice Gratitude for Earth
Do at Home
I will spend 5 minute(s) per day outside, practicing gratitude (prayer, meditation, journaling, etc.) for Earth and my natural surroundings.
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community
Watch a Documentary about Food Sovereignty
Do at Home
I will watch 1 documentary(ies) about food sovereignty: the right of local peoples to control their own food systems including markets, ecological resources, food cultures and production methods.
Action Track: Healing and Renewal
Core Values
Do at Home
We may find more meaning and joy in life when our actions are aligned with our personal values. I will determine what my top 3-5 core values are so that I can better align my actions with them.
Community
Volunteer in My Community
Do at Home
I will volunteer 6 hour(s) in my community during the challenge.
Participant Feed
Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.
To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

Rachel Zarfas 10/19/2020 4:51 PMI made up my own daily challenge to repair old clothes. Each day I pull a new item out of my "to sew bag", mend a hole and voila...I have an article of clothing back in my wardrobe! I grateful for the eco-challenge to be motivating me to fix all these loved items instead of being tempted to buy new clothes. -
Rachel Zarfas 10/14/2020 8:12 AMI'm on vacation in Utah for part of the eco-challenge, but not letting that stop me from joining in. I enjoyed a beautiful fall day while exploring a new hike with my family. :)
