Doing this made me realize that before investing in a company I must do a better job of analyzing it to make sure it is something that I will feel okay about supporting

A recent Keen Independent Research Foundation study found that Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you work to address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?

I think that one simple way to help these businesses that may struggle to receive loans or contracts is to continue to support them in whatever way possible. Aside from just going to these businesses, I think that it is also very important to leave a good review or post on social media to encourage others to do the same. Completing these simple actions will go a long way towards getting these businesses recognized and help them get the funding that they are in need of.

What are the ways in which voters are prohibited from or discouraged from voting in your region and/or state? What could be done to get rid of these barriers?

One way in which voters in my state are prohibited from voting in my state is that anyone in Massachusetts who is in prison cannot vote. This is one group of the population that is being disenfranchised. Seeing as the criminal justice system in the United States disproportionately affects African Americans, restrictions on voting while in prison also has a disproportionate impact on African Americans. While this restriction is the case in Massachusetts, other states in New England (Vermont and Maine) afford everyone the right to vote, even if they are in prison. If this is the case in other states, especially in such close proximity to Massachusetts it is clear to me that giving everyone the right to vote, including those in prison, is a clear solution to this form of disenfranchisement.
