  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Core Values
What are your top 3-5 core values? How did you narrow it down to those as being your core values?

    Trinity DeMoulin's avatar
    Trinity DeMoulin 10/20/2020 8:05 AM
I chose five core values. I picked honesty, loyalty, respect, compassion, and security/stability. I did not find it challenging narrowing down to these five as I feel like I try to direct my life choices by checking in with my core values making sure that I'm not compromising them.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Nurture Self-Compassion
How can nurturing your Self-Compassion also nurture healthier relationships with others and the environment?

    Trinity DeMoulin's avatar
    Trinity DeMoulin 10/19/2020 4:17 PM
When I continue to be kind to myself and extend grace towards my shortcomings, it allows me to further grow as a person. If I am able to continue to grow as a person, I can continue to nourish my relationships with friends and family, as well as with the environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Happiness
How does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?

    Trinity DeMoulin 10/19/2020 10:38 AM
It reminds me, that even in challenging times, I still have a lot to be grateful for. It also reminds me that when I am facing an obstacle, it is easy to get distracted and forgetful of what is going "right" in my life.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Justice for the Whole Community Support Businesses Owned by People of Color
A recent Keen Independent Research Foundation study found that Minority Businesses Enterprises (MBEs) are more likely to have difficulties in receiving loans or city contracts. In what ways can you work to address systemic racism like that demonstrated in this study?

Encouraging local leaders to implement policies that require a certain percentage of loans or city contracts to be awarded to minority businesses. On a larger scale, wage gaps and workplace discrimination also needs to be addressed in order to support potential minority business owners, as the banks will want to see consistent employment. And lastly, as a consumer of goods, I can support Black (or Indigenous or NBPOC) business owners by contributing my own funds to them so they don't even need to access a loan for their business. I can also encourage my friends and family to do the same.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Action Track: Healing and Renewal Go for a Daily Walk Outside
Fresh air and movement are good for our entire being and can help us think more clearly and creatively. How does taking a walk each day affect yourself and/or your work?

I think it helps keep my mind sharp and clear. It is also a good form of exercise. I tend to walk with my dog and seeing her enjoy the simple things really helps me also enjoy the simpler things.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

    Trinity DeMoulin's avatar
    Trinity DeMoulin 10/19/2020 10:13 AM
Scheduling in time to enjoy the outdoors is something that I will start doing. Researching the place I want to explore ahead of time will also help me stay accountable and learn more about the location. I enjoy taking photos of the places that I visit, so this will help me appreciate my surroundings.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Health Take Control
How do environmental health, community health, and your personal health intersect?

    Trinity DeMoulin's avatar
    Trinity DeMoulin 10/13/2020 1:51 PM
I believe the health of the environment impacts the health of my community which therefore impacts the health of me. But, I also believe that if I am not the healthiest version of myself that I am also negatively impacting my community and therefore the environment. Having access to clean air, clean energy, and sustainable food helps promote health within my community and within myself.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Simplicity Needs Vs. Wants
How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    Trinity DeMoulin's avatar
    Trinity DeMoulin 10/11/2020 8:20 AM
If I am more creative in my uses of items, I can be more sustainable and practice simplicity in my daily living.
