Getting closer to nature while fishing this year has allowed me to better appreciate the trees, plants, little forest animals and, of course, the beauty of fish.  :)

I love the People's EcoChallenge.  Especially that I get 5 points for doing this.  :)

What would you like to invest more time in reflecting on?

I focus my reflection time on clearing my mind.  I don't like to focus on a specific thing, I'd rather have them just come and go.  Briefly seeing them and then letting them vanish.  I've found this is the best way to calm the mind and allow for it to think better even after I'm done meditating.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?

You notice all the little things/decorations on people's houses.  You better see the plants and flowers they have growing in their yards.  And even if they have a cute dog in their window.

What do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?

    Robert Lachcik's avatar
    Robert Lachcik 10/07/2020 8:38 AM
I will make a concerted effort to purchase electric devices (bulbs, appliances, etc...) that are more efficient to reduce my overall electricity usage.  In many cases, these items are more expensive hence, that's where the extra money can go.

In the cooler months, I always open the sliding door shades in our kitchen which gets full sun all morning.  It dramatically warms up our kitchen not requiring us to start up our furnace many mornings.

Turn the temperature down on your hot water heater.  And turn the shower head off when soaping up.
