Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 30 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.
Community
Support Native Communities
Do at Home
I will use the resource links provided and spend 30 minutes learning about the native populations that lived in my area prior to colonization, and what I can do to support those that still exist.
Waste
Find Local Recycling Depots
Do at Home
I will find out where to recycle the recyclable items that I can't put in recycling dumpsters or my curbside bin.
Waste
Go Paperless
Do at Home
I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 3.4lbs (1.5kg) a month or 41lbs (18.6kg) a year by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.
Waste
Advocate For More Food Packaging Options
Do at Home
I will advocate for alternatives to single-use packaging at local grocery stores, markets, at work, or on campus to reduce pollution in the environment and in local communities.

Sam Peterson 10/16/2020 2:26 PMEveryone, don't let the pandemic scare you off your annual exams. Just heard from a colleague who caught and successfully treated early stage breast cancer in August because she didn't put off her mammogram. Health facilities are taking extra precautions to keep us safe during checkups. We can't take care of the planet if we're not looking after ourselves. -
