  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Oregon is lucky, in that suppression measures are not as apparent as areas like Texas.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use a Reusable Mug
Maybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?

    Casey Rhodes's avatar
    Casey Rhodes 10/19/2020 9:07 AM
We always make coffee at home, which is easier now since we spend so much more time at home.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
Waste Use a Reusable Water Bottle
While water bottles are needed for health and safety in certain places, we can do more to reduce the unnecessary use of them. What are the barriers to you using reusable bottles and tap water instead of bottled water? How could you make this a permanent habit?

    Casey Rhodes's avatar
    Casey Rhodes 10/19/2020 9:07 AM
We already make this a permanent habit. It's all about routine. Changing your routine to depend on bringing your reusable water bottle with you wherever you go.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

    Casey Rhodes's avatar
    Casey Rhodes 10/19/2020 9:06 AM
We ALWAYS make sure we have an ample supply of reusable bags in our car at all times. And when I'm on my bike, I use my bike bags.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Casey Rhodes's avatar
    Casey Rhodes 10/19/2020 9:05 AM
One way we have done this is using reusable paper towels - flannel towels that can be 'rolled' up like paper towels, washed, and reused.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Nature Explore My Area
How can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?

    Casey Rhodes's avatar
    Casey Rhodes 10/19/2020 9:03 AM
