Rev. Meg's actions

Food

Reduce Animal Products

Do at Home

I will enjoy 2 meatless meal(s) and/or 0 vegan meal(s) each day this week.

COMPLETED 20
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Skip the Straw

Do at Home

Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 1 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

COMPLETED 3
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Reduce Single-Use Disposables

Do at Home

Historically, marginalized and low-income communities live closer to landfills, contributing to a multitude of health problems. I will find out how I can limit single-use items and do my best to limit the waste I generate. I will keep 1 container(s) out of the landfill each day.

COMPLETED 10
DAILY ACTIONS

Health

Exercise Daily

Do at Home

Exercise is a great stress blaster! I will exercise for 20 minute(s) each day.

COMPLETED 12
DAILY ACTIONS

Waste

Go Paperless

Do at Home

I will reduce the amount of paper mail that I receive by 3.4lbs (1.5kg) a month or 41lbs (18.6kg) a year by opting into paperless billing, ending unwanted subscriptions and opting out of junk mail.

COMPLETED
ONE-TIME ACTION

Waste

Compost Food Waste

Do at Home

I will avoid sending up to .69 lbs (.31 kg) of food waste to the landfill each day by composting my food or learning how to.

COMPLETED 20
DAILY ACTIONS

Only one more week to go! I am enjoying reading your posts. Find out anything new about yourself during the last two weeks? I'm noticing how easy it is to eat two non-meat meals a day.

Hello Beacon Teammates! I'm excited about doing the Ecochallenge together. I've marked in my agenda to check back on my actions and mark off the ones done at the end of each day. It is my spiritual exercise this month. What are you doing to help yourself during the challenge? What support can we as teammates offer you?
