Kathy Robertson 10/27/2020 7:14 AMFrom decluttering my house, I just took 3 boxes to Goodwill last night. I had a lot of things I did not need and never use around the house. The best part about it is I did not bring any new things into the house. -
Kathy Robertson 10/22/2020 8:17 AMFound anti toxic dishwasher detergent, toilet bowl cleaner, drain declogger and glass cleaner that I like. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Kathy Robertson 10/14/2020 8:45 AMCreativity is necessary for practicing simplicity since you cannot run out and buy everything you want. Examples could be borrowing a tool from a neighbor or renting a tool instead of buying it. Also fixing things instead of buying something new. My Grandkids bring their clothes to my house that need mending. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Kathy Robertson 10/12/2020 9:47 AMSome of the human activities impacting the health of water systems in my area are paper mill runoff, farm animal runoff and human waste to name a few. Also the overuse of water during the summer months affects fish when the rivers and streams dry up. Also we know from the Plastic free Eco challenge, plastic waste in the water systems is a huge problem around the world, especially for fish, wildlife and birds. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater Mulch the Base of Trees and PlantsWhere are your nearest natural bodies of water? How might they be affected by runoff?
Kathy Robertson 10/11/2020 9:15 AMI live near the Clackamas and Willamette Rivers. It has a large population of salmon and sturgeon. Some of the fish have mutations from pollution in the water. The rivers also provide drinking water for thousands of people, so it is important to keep the water run off clean. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity De-Clutter My HomeHow can you prevent yourself from accumulating more things in the future?
Kathy Robertson 10/08/2020 10:31 AMI will make sure I get rid of something for every new thing I bring into the house. -
Kathy Robertson 10/08/2020 10:31 AMThis morning I decluttered my end table. Haven't seen the top of that table in a lot of time. -
Kathy Robertson 10/07/2020 9:20 AM
One of my challenges is to de-clutter my home. I started with my kitchen counter. I put everything away and then have a box of items to get rid of. I found a piece of a gutter I picked up after the strong winds last month so now I need to find out which neighbor lost it. My other challenge is not to bring new things in once I de-clutter.
