    Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

    tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, kale are all items I froze or pickled for use over the winter.

      How did you freeze your basil? I've been making pesto in freezing it in ice cubes. :)

    I want to eliminate plastic bags and replace with glass containers, waxed cotton cloths and other reusable containers

    creativity is required for practicing simplicity as our world is increasingly designed for convenience.  Doing something simply like using whole, raw foods may require me to research and connect with different resources than the one box supermarket.
