Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.

  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Waste Skip the Straw
How could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?

    Skyla Wilkins 10/09/2020 9:38 PM
I will incorporate these "R's" by reducing the amount of straws I use and reusing a metal straw. I will also refuse to accept plastic straws and repurpose them being keeping them in a container so when I recycle them they won't get scattered an end up in the ocean.

I became more aware throughout the day of wasted energy, and tried my best to reduce it.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Energy Turn It Off
How is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?

    Skyla Wilkins's avatar
    Skyla Wilkins 10/08/2020 11:29 AM
Electricity impacts our life by emitting greenhouse gases and other harmful things. Using extra electricity that is not needed produces non-renewable energy, which is bad for our environment. Turning off our electricity when not in use, we are reducing all of these things.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

  • REFLECTION QUESTION

Having more sleep helps prepare me for starting the next day off right.
