REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Practice Loving-Kindness MeditationHow can practicing Loving-Kindness Meditation be helpful to the health of the environment?
Courtney Groszhans 10/21/2020 12:04 PMIt can help you pause and notice the nature surrounding you more. This leads to a greater appreciation of the world that surrounds us. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONWater 5-Minute ShowersName some of the human activities impacting the health of water systems, both locally (your watershed) and globally (freshwater and oceans). What can you do to improve the health of water systems?
Courtney Groszhans 10/21/2020 12:03 PMFast fashion impacts the heath of water systems. I watched a documentary that showed the factories where a lot of our cheaper clothing is made abroad, and the water was very polluted from the factories and caused a lot of illnesses in the surrounding areas. By shopping less and shopping at second hand stores more can help improve water quality. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Healing and Renewal HappinessHow does/can practicing gratitude keep you centered and motivated to work for a better world?
Courtney Groszhans 10/19/2020 8:08 PMWriting down gratitude's is a great way to appreciate your life, and the lives of the people around you. It also helps you know what truly gives you joy. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Needs Vs. WantsHow is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?
Courtney Groszhans 10/19/2020 10:19 AMYou can use your creativity to make something that you were going to buy. For instance, I am going to be making a birthday card rather than buying one. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Reduce Animal ProductsWhy do people in richer countries eat more meat than people in other places? How does eating more meat affect our planet and other people?
Courtney Groszhans 10/16/2020 10:56 AMMeat is expensive. When you have less money, you will eat cheaper proteins such as rice and beans. A great way to save money is to eat less meat or to think of meat as a side dish rather than the "main course." I remember reading somewhere that it takes 50 gallons of water for a cheeseburger because livestock takes up so much of our water resources. Also, I remember seeing that if everyone was vegetarian for one day out of the week, it would have a tremendous positive affect on the environment. -
Courtney Groszhans 10/13/2020 2:45 PMGreat job, CLEAResult team! We are currently in 14th place overall! Make sure to check in daily. You not only receive points, but we will be able to closely track our environmental impact as a team!
