I was surprised to find my electric company gladly sold my contact information to many contractors in the Phoenix area. I learned not to click on the first result of any search for an energy audit, even if it is a company you know.

I have begun going through the recyclables for my complex. The Plastic industry developed a campaign of disinformation about the recycling of plastics in 1989. There was no technology to recycle many soft plastics or mixed materials at that time and still none today.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

What did you learn about racial injustice in the documentary(ies) you watched? How does what you learned connect to your understanding of sustainability?

    Keri Price 10/26/2020 8:21 PM
Marginalized communities are much more likely to live in higher industrialized areas. This makes these groups more vulnerable to dangerous environmental conditions. We need to take care of our people in order to have a more sustainable future.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

    Keri Price 10/26/2020 7:41 PM
There are areas in China that the bees are gone. One of these area's specializes in pears. The locals have to go out and use long sticks with feathers on it to try to pollinate the fruit trees. The yields have plummeted since the disappearance of the bees.

    Keri Price's avatar
    Keri Price 10/26/2020 7:37 PM
All I have to do is go out to my garage and see all of the boxes of stuff in storage. It gives me an incentive not to buy more items.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION

How is creativity a necessary ingredient for practicing simplicity?

    Keri Price's avatar
    Keri Price 10/26/2020 7:26 PM
You need to be creative to use what you already have to solve the problem that needs to be fixed. Duct tape can hold the world together!
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
    Community Research Restorative Justice
How can Restorative Justice help foster the well-being of both people and planet?

    Keri Price's avatar
    Keri Price 10/26/2020 7:23 PM
The three big issues Restorative Justice addresses is repair, encounter, and reform. There are so many pressing issues in our society that must be dealt with. For the good of our democracy and our planet we have to work together to fix our broken society and heavily damaged environment.
  • REFLECTION QUESTION
