REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Use a Reusable MugMaybe you've heard how good it is to switch from a single use coffee cup to a reusable one, but it's just hard to make the switch. What stands in your way of making this a habit? By identifying the challenges, you can begin to work through them to have better success in taking this action. Knowing the difference you are making, how does it make you feel?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 3:19 PMObviously, things are different right now, but knowing now how much of a difference the reuseable cup makes, helped me see that making the effort to remember to carry a mug with me, is absolutely worth it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONTransportation Work From HomeIt takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. How have you used technology to replace in-person meetings or work this year?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 3:12 PMLearning to use multiple platforms for virtual meetings has made it possible to at least see people, both in and out of work, when seeing people in person is either not feasible or not possible. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Power Down the ComputerWhat are other easy things you could do to save energy and reduce your environmental footprint?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 3:08 PMMaking sure anything that doesn't need to be on or plugged in, isn't. :) -
REFLECTION QUESTIONSimplicity Family Game HourHow does being playful with others enrich your life?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 3:06 PMThere seem to be a lot more laughs and/or conversation when playing board games or putting together puzzles. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Go for a Daily WalkHow do you experience your neighborhood or city differently when walking instead of driving?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 12:23 PMThings like waving at people and getting to appreciate your surroundings instead of having them go by in a blur are no longer taken for granted. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONNature Explore My AreaHow can spending more time outdoors enhance your sense of place -- your deep knowledge of and appreciation for your surroundings?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 12:20 PMIt's surprising what you can find not far from your own front door if you only look. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth ForgivenessHow has the process of forgiving, or contemplating forgiveness, benefited you?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 12:17 PMDiscovering that forgiveness doesn't mean excusing or in any way condoning the behavior of the offender and now "being ok" with things, but instead choosing freedom from being hurt by it anymore. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Amy Wanhala 10/28/2020 10:17 AMI would prefer to try and shift my sleep pattern to go to bed earlier and be up earlier. I find that going 'low-tech' an hour before bed, i.e. book, music, is best for helping wind down. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONFood Buy From a Farmers MarketWhat is one food choice that you make, or could make, that would do more good and less harm?
-
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Switch to Cold WaterWhat do you plan to do with the money you save from making more energy efficient choices?
