Help Others
Do at Home
I will offer to help 2 person(s) who are in need each day.
Waste
Skip the Straw
Do at Home
Plastic bags and small plastic pieces like straws are most likely to get swept into our waterways. I will keep 2 plastic straw(s) out of the landfill and ocean each day by refusing straws or using my own glass/metal straw.
Nature
Spend Time Outside
Do at Home
I will replace 30 minute(s) each day typically spent inside (computer time, watching television, etc.) with quality time outside.
Simplicity
Family Game Hour
Do at Home
I will spend quality time with family and friends by playing low-tech game(s) and/or through the spirit of imagination.
Energy
Turn It Off
Do at Home
I will keep lights, electronics, and appliances turned off when not using them.
Health
Healthy Sleep
Do at Home
Effectively working for sustainability requires self care! I will commit to getting 30 more minute(s) of sleep each night to achieve at least 7 hours per night.

REFLECTION QUESTIONWaste Skip the StrawHow could you incorporate other "R's" -- reduce, reuse, refuse, repair, repurpose, etc. -- into your lifestyle?
Skyla Wilkins 10/09/2020 9:38 PMI will incorporate these "R's" by reducing the amount of straws I use and reusing a metal straw. I will also refuse to accept plastic straws and repurpose them being keeping them in a container so when I recycle them they won't get scattered an end up in the ocean. -
Skyla Wilkins 10/08/2020 7:14 PMI became more aware throughout the day of wasted energy, and tried my best to reduce it. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONEnergy Turn It OffHow is electricity generated where you live? How does it impact the environment, animals, and humans?
Skyla Wilkins 10/08/2020 11:29 AMElectricity impacts our life by emitting greenhouse gases and other harmful things. Using extra electricity that is not needed produces non-renewable energy, which is bad for our environment. Turning off our electricity when not in use, we are reducing all of these things. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONCommunity Help OthersIn your opinion, how do social inequalities diminish a strong sense of community?
Skyla Wilkins 10/08/2020 11:20 AMBy helping other people I'm creating a stronger bond with one another. -
REFLECTION QUESTIONHealth Healthy SleepConsider how many hours of sleep you get now. How would you like to shift your sleep patterns? What are you finding works for you to be successful in this action?
Skyla Wilkins 10/08/2020 10:59 AMHaving more sleep helps prepare me for starting the next day off right.
