Jennifer Reece 10/28/2020 6:06 PMPlastic pollution is a huge issue for ocean life due to the fish and birds eating the plastic particles, which can kill the animals or release toxins into them that end up in the human food chain. -

What are the advantages of knowing who produces your food and where it comes from? How can knowing their food producers enable someone to advocate for a better quality of life for those who produce their food, both near and far?
Jennifer Reece 10/28/2020 6:01 PMI like to buy from farmer's markets and go to local farms, when possible. It's good to support our local farmers from a social and environmental perspective, since it reduced GHG emissions and contributes to a thriving community. -

REFLECTION QUESTIONAction Track: Justice for the Whole CommunityWhat did you learn from the resources? What did you discover from the offset calculator?
Jennifer Reece 10/28/2020 5:58 PMI learned that there are still sources of ozone depleting substances, such as building insulation foam and refrigerators, that are leaking large amounts into the atmosphere. The offset calculator showed the impact of my household, which I plan to try to reduce and then offset.
