BACK TO TEAM PAGE

Reflection, encouragement, and relationship building are all important aspects of getting a new habit to stick.
Share thoughts, encourage others, and reinforce positive new habits on the Feed.

To get started, share “your why.” Why did you join the challenge and choose the actions you did?

I have learned to love my stainless straws and if on the odd instance I am given a plastic, I reuse it many times

    Waste Compost Food Waste
New to composting? Be sure to check out the action resource links to learn tips and more about it. As you transition from throwing food away to composting, what do you notice about how much you are tossing? How will you use your compost once it is ready?

I have a little bucket in my kitchen where I easily put stuff and take out to my green bin when needed

    Waste Use Reusable Bags
What do you do if you find yourself in the situation of needing a bag for items but don't have a reusable one with you or aren't allowed to use the one you brought? Carry things out in your hands? In a cart? Accept a disposable one? If you find yourself in this position often, what system could you put in place to try to create a successful habit of not using plastic bags?

Since quarantine began, we've been sourcing 95% of our produce from a local farmstand. So far, I have noticed that I can't get all of the vegetables I might want but it hasn't been bad. I think that mushrooms would be the most difficult thing to not have access to if we only ever got our produce from the one farmstand. Eventually, we'll go back to shopping at the local farmer's market and will have access to a larger variety of fruits and vegetables.

    Transportation Work From Home
It takes the average worker in the United States 26 minutes to travel to work. One way to fix long commutes would be to make cities more affordable. An even simpler option: promote the use of telework. How have you used technology to replace in-person meetings or work this year?

I am one who plans her life around the commute and it has been so freeing to longer have to! Instead, I plan days out  of the house where I end up stacking all of my events together causing my driving time to diminish to almost nothing this has saved me greatly on car insurance, gas, and wear on vechice not to mention how much more quality time I am then able to have else where in my life:)
