October 28 at 8:56 AMWe planted a river birch. It is a local species to NYS and within hours of completing the job, birds and squirrels were seeking refuge in our tiny sapling. Its rewarding to watch something grow and has inspired us to spend more time in our backyard.

October 27 at 3:52 AMOveruse of water, flushing toxic materials down the toilet, dumping toxic materials in the woods that could flow into a runoff. I can take short showers, use little water while washing dishes, and dispose of toxic materials properly.

October 26 at 10:57 AMAt home and in the office, this is always the habit. Making the habit of bringing mugs to to-go places is more difficult. Coffee shops often allow this, but not all other food places do. So in these instances, maybe opt for no drink?

October 26 at 10:54 AMI value saving money and, of course, the environment. Switching to LEDs, sealing windows, reducing drafts, and saving water are all ways to both cut your energy bills and reduce your footprint.
