It's going OK but wish it had more things than food. I do a lot more with ecology than food. I do a lot more for climate change than food. Food has been resolved long ago but I can always learn something but I do more with other things that have to do with the environment.

It is not going as fast as I would like as I have had a flareup of Rheumatoid Arthritis and cannot use my hands much. So I wait for them to stop hurting before I do much.

Sorry to hear about the flareup, Elizabeth, I can imagine that's quite painful.... take care. Good you're waiting til that doesn't hurt as much.

Many states and countries have advisories on eating fish. Find out what is advised for your region. Do you think your diet choices fall within these guidelines? What steps do you need to take to make sure that they do?

I usually eat lots of fish but with the pandemic, we have been ordering our food more and it isn't always possible to buy fish as I like to see what I am buying. I continue to eat canned salmon and tuna (but only Albacore as it doesn't have as much mercury in it). I usually make salmon chowder from the canned variety and an occasional tuna sandwich for lunch.

I have learned to shop less and maybe more often if need be so it eliminates waste. It is working well. I also have been peeling fewer vegetables and leaving the skin on and baking or adding them to the pot like that.

I am really aware of how to store and keep food and buy less and maybe more often to cut down on waste. That is working.

I have recently damaged my hands. Do not know yet if it is Rheumatoid Arthritis or just from too much work refinishing furniture. I can't chop anything. So I hot a handy dandy chopper in a Home Hardware store and it chops for me. I do not waste as much trying to do something I can't do and it chops all those things I need chopping.

Good. I started taking my food plans seriously now that Thanksgiving is over. Already made soup and pot pies from turkey for later and to put on my chart.

An average American throws out about 240 lbs of food per year. The average family of four in the US spends $1,500 a year on food that they throw out. Does this surprise you? Where would you rather use this money?

I am in the process of doing this. Started yesterday and going through everything in cupboards, fridge and freezer. Printed the weekly food chart and ready to get to it.

Canning and pickling food is a great way to have delicious summer fruits and vegetables all year round. Just make sure to follow the canning and pickling guidelines from the USDA or another trusted source. What are some foods that you would like to preserve and enjoy later in the year?

I don't do pickling and preserves. I do freezing. I am making meals and freezing them for the week. I can save time, money and food. No waste.
